I was on a client call and we somehow got into the extreme gaps between the middle class and poverty plaguing South Africa. As the minutes went on I noticed one very profound thing, we can sit and talk about how unfortunate and heartbreaking it all is, there's a time and place for it but when we give our energy to that which we can not change we are left depleted and powerless.

Coming from a recovering altruistic, codependent, people pleasing, perfectionist empath, I get it! I want world peace and for everyone to get along too but I'm wise enough to know that I can not address what I have not yet addressed within myself.

Anybody can smile but not everybody feels joy and understanding that empowered me to choose my friends, my partner and influences in my life, more wisely.

Joy is an essential part to living a rich and fulfilling life and at one moment in my life I was robbed of my joy. No one chooses to give joy up, we're usually robbed of it.

Whether it was through childhood experiences or life experiences, either way, your joy is your liberation, your portal to divine freedom, divine love, and the devine YOU and it's essential you reclaim it deep in your bones!

I began prioritising joy when I gave up chasing everything I thought would bring me it. I left my high paying corporate career, I stopped investing in relationships that stole my sovereignty and didn't honour my way of being.

It was lonely and it was sad at times but you can't experience the heights of joy without also experiencing the depths of your sadness.

A part of re-parenting yourself is learning how to embrace and feel joy again and by doing so you give permission for others to do the same✨

Your new found joy may cost you your old self but that's OK because you were always meant to be here reading this with me in this moment 😉

Marilyn Manson's response was that of a typical narcissist/sociopath 🙄 You can go to his Instagram to see what he said and to gain a small understanding of how an empath/narcissist relationship plays out and usually ends in traumatic and severe trauma for the empath, not the narcissist.⁠

What would you do if someone even slightly claimed you abused them? Any normal person would feel shame and remorse and that's the key difference between people with NPD and people who are normal. They have no shame, remorse or empathy.⁠

I'm all about self-empowerment and self-healing on this page but my secondary goal for @tha_happinessguide is to raise awareness of NPD (narcissistic personality disorder). It's time society stopped enabling them in anyway. Be the change you wish to see and be happy 😊💖⁠
